Melinda Hipp is a native Texan who received her Bachelor’s at Texas Tech University and graduated from Southern Methodist University with an MBA and an MA. Since entering the mortgage business in 1998, Melinda has established herself as a complete full-service mortgage lender with top customer service skills and innovative marketing ideas.

Currently, Melinda Hipp is a Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional for Texas and CA with Reverse Mortgage Authority. Melinda is intent on growing Reverse Mortgage awareness for Baby Boomers, Realtors and Financial Planners. Located in San Antonio, Melinda specializes in working with senior homeowners 62 and over who would like to access the equity in their home through a Reverse Mortgage. She has handled hundreds of satisfied Reverse Mortgage clients with 20 years experience.

She and her team are dedicated to educating on the benefits of both the refinance and purchase programs available to homeowners and home buyers. Melinda regularly provides training to local real estate and financial professionals and holds the designation of MBA and CRMP (Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional.)

An avid golfer, Melinda was a charter member of the San Antonio Chapter of the LPGA Amateurs and serves as a USGA and TGA golf referee. She is currently a member of the National Reverse Mortgage Lender’s Association, SABOR (San Antonio Board of Realtors), TMBA (Texas Mortgage Bankers Association) and serves as the 2020 Chair for Texas Reverse Mortgage Day.

Complaint forms and instructions may be obtained from the department’s website at www.sml.texas.gov. A toll-free consumer hotline is available at 1-877-276-5550. The department maintains a recovery fund to make payments of certain actual out-of-pocket damages sustained by borrowers caused by acts of licensed residential mortgage loan originators. A written application for reimbursement from the recovery fund must be filed with and investigated by the department prior to the payment of a claim.
